A CASE INVESTIGATED BY THE TENNESSEE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION HAS RESULTED IN A FORMER SPRING HILL OFFICER PLEADING GUILTY TO A FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATION. CHRISTOPHER PATRICK ODOM, 27, OF SPRING HILL PLEADED GUILTY TUESDAY IN US DISTRICT COURT TO ONE COUNT OF DEPRIVATION OF RIGHTS UNDER COLOR OF LAW FOR ENGAGING IN UNWANTED SEXUAL CONTACT WITH A FEMALE MOTORIST WHILE ON DUTY AS A POLICE OFFICER. THE CHARGE STEMS FROM AN INCIDENT THAT OCCURRED LATE IN THE EVENING ON JUNE 25, 2016. ODOM PREVIOUSLY PLEADED GUILTY TO STATE CHARGES OF SEXUAL BATTERY AND OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT REGARDING OTHER FEMALE MOTORISTS IN MAURY COUNTY AND IS FACING SIMILAR STATE CHARGES IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY. ODOM FACES UP TO ONE YEAR IN PRISON AND A ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLAR FINE.
