LAWRENCEBURG CITY COUNCIL MET THIS MORNING FOR THEIR REGULAR MEETING.  

MAYOR DURHAM STARTED THE MEETING BY TAKING A MOMENT TO THANK EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH THE WORLD SERIES. HE ADVISED WHAT A GOOD IMPRESSION OUR CITY MADE ON THOSE WHO WERE VISITING. COUNCILMAN FOX ALSO ADDED WHAT AN OUTSTANDING JOB THE GROUNDS CREW DID. MAYOR DURHAM WENT ON TO ANNOUNCE THAT THE CITY OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED ON SEPTEMBER 4TH IN OBSERVANCE OF LABOR DAY AND THAT JOHN FERGUSON WILL BE TAKING RAYMOND MARSTON ON THE REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION.

FINAL READINGS WERE HEARD AND APPROVED ON THE FOLLOWING: THE REGULATION OF JUNKED VEHICLES ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PROPERTY AND THE APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2016-2017 FISCAL YEAR IN WHICH THERE WAS A 270,000 AMENDMENT. FIRST READINGS WERE HEARD AND APPROVED ON THE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE EAST SIDE OF MAPLE AND ROBERTS AVENUE. THIS NOW GOES TO SECOND READING AND ONCE APPROVED WILL HELP EMERGENCY RESPONDERS, WHO UP UNTIL HAVE HAD DIFFICULTIES IN DRIVING THROUGH THESE AREAS WHEN THERE ARE CARS ON BOTH SIDES. ALL RESOLUTIONS WERE APPROVED INCLUDING THE RESOLUTION TO ALLOW FOR SCHOOLEY MITCHEL TO COME AND AUDIT AND EVALUATE ALL OF THE CITY'S COMMUNICATIONS, TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY COST SAVINGS AVAILABLE. THIS AUDIT WILL BE AT NO COST TO THE CITY.

THE PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE ZONING OF THE OFFICE PORTION OF THE OLD MURRAY BUILDING LOCATED ON THE EAST SIDE OF REMKE DRIVE WAS RESCHEDULED FOR THE NEXT CITY COUNCIL MEETING.
