FOUR COLUMBIA CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE IN JUVENILE DETENTION FOLLOWING AN ALTERCATION WEDNESDAY MORNING.  ACCORDING TO REPORTS, THE FIGHT BROKE OUT JUST BEFORE SCHOOL STARTED AND STEMMED FROM PROBLEMS IN A NEIGHBORHOOD LAST WEEK.  A SCHOOL SYSTEM PRESS RELEASE INDICATES THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER USED A SHOCK GUN ON A STUDENT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO BREAK UP THE INCIDENT.  13 OTHER STUDENTS WERE CITED BECAUSE OF THE ALTERCATION.  MAURY COUNTY SCHOOLS EXPRESSED GRATITUDE TO SCHOOL STAFF, COLUMBIA, AND MAURY COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR THEIR RESPONSE.
