A FORMER UNIVERSITY OF NORTH ALABAMA TRAINER HAS BEEN CHARGES ON SEXUAL ABUSE CHARGES.

ACCORDING TO THE TIMES DAILY, NICHOLAS ALEXANDER WAS INDICTED BY A GRAND JURY WEDNESDAY AND IS BEING CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE SEXUAL ABUSE. ALEXANDER WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND HAS BEEN RELEASED ON A $25,000 BOND.

UNA ISSUED A STATEMENT WEDNESDAY STATING THE UNIVERSITY LEARNED ABOUT THE ALLEGATION IN MARCH AND ALEXANDER WAS REMOVED FROM CAMPUS AT THAT TIME AND BANNED FROM CONTACT WITH STUDENTS. HE THEN RESIGNED IN JULY BEFORE THE UNIVERSITY WAS ABLE TO TERMINATE HIM BASED ON AN INVESTIGATION THEY CONDUCTED AND CONCLUDED THAT HE DID VIOLATE UNA POLICY.
