A FORMER LAUDERDALE COUNTY WOMAN WAS INDICTED WEDNESDAY ON 54 ABUSE RELATED CHARGES, INCLUDING CHILD ABUSE, STRANGULATION AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING.  ACCORDING TO THE TIMES DAILY, JENISE SPURGEON, 52, OF CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA, WAS INDICTED BY A LAUDERDALE COUNTY GRAND JURY AND IS CHARGED WITH 43 COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED CHILD ABUSE, FIVE COUNTS OF STRANGULATION AND SIX COUNTS OF FIRST-DEGREE HUMAN TRAFFICKING.  SPURGENON AND HER HUSBAND, DANIEL, 47, WERE FOSTER PARENTS IN FLORENCE FOR SEVEN YEARS AND FACE HUNDREDS OF ABUSE CHARGES FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA AND ALABAMA INVOLVING THEIR FOSTER AND ADOPTED CHILDREN. THE COUPLE WAS ARRESTED IN MARCH OF 2016 IN FLORIDA, IN WHICH JENISE WAS ABLE TO MAKE BAIL. IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR, SHE WAS ARRESTED ON LOCAL CHARGES AND HER FLORIDA CHARGES ARE STILL PENDING. DANIEL SPURGENON IS STILL IN FLORIDA FACING FLORIDA CHARGES AND HIS LOCAL CHARGES ARE STILL PENDING AS WELL.
