AUTHORITIES ARE INVESTIGATING A FATAL ACCIDENT THAT OCCURRED THURSDAY AFTERNOON IN LAURDERDALE COUNTY THAT LEFT ONE PERSON DEAD.

ACCORDING TO THE TIMES DAILY, EMERGENCY PERSONNEL WERE DISPATCHED TO THE TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON BUTLER CREEK ROAD IN ST. FLORIAN AROUND 2:20 THURSDAY.

REGINA MARIE SKAGGS, 40, OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY, WAS TRAPPED IN HER VEHICLE AND WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE.

THIS MARKS THE 30TH FATAL WRECK IN THE REGIONS OF NORTHWEST ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN TENNESSEE AND THE FOURTH FATALITY ACCIDENT IN THE MONTH OF AUGUST.
