THE ALABAMA FIRE MARSHALL'S OFFICE IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING A BARN FIRE THAT OCCURRED EARLY THIS MORNING IN LIMESTONE COUNTY.

ACCORDING TO MEDIA, RESPONDERS WERE DISPATCHED TO A REPORT OF A BARN ON FIRE ON THACH ROAD JUST EAST OF MOORESVILLE JUST BEFORE 3 THIS MORNING.

UPON ARRIVAL, FIREFIGHTERS FROM ARDMORE, ELKMONT AND OAK GROVE/THACH FIRE DEPARTMENT FOUND THE BARN FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES WITH THE ROOF COLLAPSED. AT LEAST 24 HORSES DIED IN THE FLAME. 10 HORSES THAT WERE OUTSIDE AT THE TIME WERE MOVED TO SAFETY.

SOME MEDIA OUTLETS ARE REPORTING THAT ALL OF THE HORSES THAT PERISHED WERE TENNESSEE WALKING HORSES THAT HAD JUST RETURNED FROM A 2 WEEK SHOW.
