FOR THOSE IN THE LAWRENCE COUNTY AREA,  A FAMILIAR FACE WAS SEEN MONDAY NIGHT DURING THE UT FOOTBALL GAME.  CANAIN PHILLIPS, A 2017 LORETTO HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE, ALONG WITH THE TENNESSEE SPIRIT TEAM HELPED CHEER ON THE VOLS FROM THE SIDELINES IN THE DOUBLE OVERTIME 42-41 GAME.  PHILLIPS, WHO HAS THE PRESTIGIOUS ROLE OF BEING "THE VOLUNTEER", HELPED BRING THE TEAM INTO THE STADIUM WITH SMOKEY, THE LONGTIME UT MASCOT, AND CARRIED ON THE MOMENTUM THROUGHOUT THE GAME.  CANDIDATES WHO ARE CHOSEN AS "THE VOLUNTEER" ARE CHOSE BASED UPON THEIR ABILITY TO PERFORM VARIOUS SKITS, INCLUDING IMPROVISED AND CHOREOGRAPHED MATERIAL AND AS THE ABILITY ATTEND ALL FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL AND BASEBALL GAMES AS WELL AS TRAVEL AND MAKE OTHER SCHEDULED APPEARANCES.
