MAURY COUNTY FIRE AND RESCUE WILL BEGIN LOOKING FOR TWO NEW LOCATIONS TO HOUSE FIRE STATIONS.  ACCORDING TO THE DAILY HERALD, A COMMITTEE HAS BEEN FORMED TO SEARCH FOR POTENTIAL SITES AND THE PROCESS COULD TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS.  THE AREAS THEY ARE FOCUSING ON ARE HAMPSHIRE AND CARTERS CREEK PIKE, DUE TO THE GROWING POPULATION IN THE ONE AREA AND THE NEED TO REPLACE AN EXISTING STATION WHICH IS SMALLER, LESS LOCALIZED LOCATION IN THE OTHER.  BY ADDING THE TWO STATIONS IT WOULD DECREASE THE RESPONSE TIME TO ANY FIRES OR EMERGENCY SITUATION IN THE TWO AREAS, CUTTING DOWN ON VOLUNTEER RESPONSE DISTANCES.  IN ADDITION WILL HELP CITIZENS SEE A DISCOUNT ON THEIR HOME INSURANCE.
