A CHEATHAM COUNTY JAILER HAS BEEN INDICTED ON ASSAULT CHARGES.

ACCORDING TO THE TENNESSEE BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION , MARK BRYANT, 39, OF CLARKSVILLE, WAS ARRESTED WEDNESDAY AFTER A CHEATHAM COUNTY GRAND JURY RETURNED INDICTMENTS CHARGING HIM WITH FOUR COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED ASSULT AND ONE COUNTY OF OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT. BRYANT, IS ACCUSED OF ASSAULTING AN INMATE WITH A STUN GUN WHILE ON DUTY AS A JAILER. THE TBI BEGAN THEIR INVESTIGATION INTO THE MATTER AFTER A SURVEILLANCE VIDEO SURFACED OF AN INCIDENT INSIDE THE JAIL ON NOVEMBER 5TH, 2016. THE VIDEO REVEALED, BRYANT USING A STUN GUN ON THE INMATE AT LEAST FOUR TIMES WHILE BEING RESTRAINED.

BRYANT IS CURRENTLY BOOKED INTO THE CHEATHAM COUNTY JAIL ON $75,000 BOND AND THE INVESTIGATION INTO THE INCIDENT REMAINS ACTIVE AND ONGOING.
