TENNESSEE HOUSE SPEAKER CAMERON SEXTON, HAS NAMED STATE REP. CLAY DOGGETT, AS CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SUBCOMMITTEE FOR THE 112TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY. THE 11-MEMBER CRIMINAL JUSTICE SUBCOMMITTEE IS AN ARM OF THE HOUSE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE WHICH OVERSEES LAWS GOVERNING ALL CRIMINAL LAWS, JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS, AND MATTERS RELATED TO THE COURTS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT ISSUES. DOGGETT, A FORMER LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER AND SMALL BUSINESS OWNER FROM GILES COUNTY, IS SERVING HIS SECOND TERM IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. HE SERVES AS A MEMBER OF THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE, THE AGRICULTURAL AND NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE AND THE NAMING AND DESIGNATING COMMITTEE. DOGGETT REPRESENTS HOUSE DISTRICT 70 WHICH INCLUDES GILES AND PART OF LAWRENCE COUNTIES.
