THE CORONA VIRUS IS STILL WITH US AND LOCAL HEALTH OFFICIALS ARE URGING LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS TO BE VACCINATED AGAINST THIS HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS DISEASE.

THE STATE OF TENNESSEE HAS LOWERED THE AGE ELIGIBILITY THRESHOLD TO 55 AND HAS OPENED ALL OF PHASE ONE AND PHASE TWO OF THE STATE’S VACCINATION PLAN.

THE LAWRENCE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT HAS VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE THIS WEEK IF YOU ARE 55 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, OR 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER WITH A HIGH RISK MEDICAL CONDITION, YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE VACCINE. HIGH RISK CONDITIONS INCLUDE HEART DISEASE, KIDNEY DISEASE, COPD, DIABETES,AND BODY MASS INDEX GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO THIRTY. IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR CARING FOR A CHILD WITH A HIGH RISK MEDICAL CONDITION, YOU ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE.
