AN ETHRIDGE HOME WAS LOST DURING A SATURDAY AFTERNOON FIRE.  MEMBERS OF SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS, INCLUDING LAWRENCEBURG, ETHRIDGE, SUMMERTOWN, HENRYVILLE, NEW PROSPECT, AND THE GILES COUNTY RESCUE SQUARD RESPONDED TO THE PROPERTY ON CAMPBELLSVILLE PIKE JUST AFTER 4 PM.  FIRST ARRIVING CREWS INDICATED HEAVY SMOKE AND FLAMES WERE COMING FROM THE HOME.  DESPITE AN EFFORT BY FIREFIGHTERS THAT LASTED SEVERAL HOURS, THE HOME AND IT'S CONTENTS WERE DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS.  NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.  MEMBERS OF BOX 50 RESPONDER SERVICES UNIT, LAWRENCE COUNTY EMS, AND THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT PROVIDED ASSISTANCE AT THE SCENE.  THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
