Ready, Set, Splash! Rotary Pool Opens Memorial Day

Summer is just around the corner, and all of us at the City of Lawrenceburg are excited about opening Rotary Pool this year. After keeping the pool closed last summer because of COVID-19, having the pool open this year is definitely something to celebrate!

Rotary Pool is a huge draw for families in the summer, and we want to make the pool a place where City guests and residents can enjoy quality time together year after year. Therefore, Rotary Pool is getting a facelift. Since the City took ownership of the pool in 1990, the pool has been maintained with minor repairs, but it’s time for major work to be done.

The City is contracting with Renosys Corporation for the pool restoration, which will go in two phases. On April 23, the first phase of repairs was completed and included pressure testing for the gutters and installing a new stainless-steel skirt. The second phase entails installing a 60-mil PVC membrane (liner). All repairs on the pool are projected to be complete mid-May. If everything goes according to plan, Rotary Pool will officially open for business on Memorial Day.

Please join me in saying kudos to our Parks and Recreation team for their dedicated effort in making Rotary Park as well as all of the City parks places our community and our visitors can enjoy and be proud of. Their efforts definitely do not go unnoticed, but I think sometimes we all need a reminder of who gets things done and serves this community behind the scenes.

So, thank you not only to Parks and Rec but also to all the City departments for working together and making great things happen for the City of Lawrenceburg and for all of Lawrence County.

It’s going to be a great summer everybody!
