THE LAWRENCEBURG UTILITY SYSTEM BOARD OF DIRECTORS HELD ITS REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING ON THURSDAY, JULY 22.   THE BOARD ELECTED CATHY MASHBURN TO SERVE AS  CHAIR AND SHANE HUGHES TO SERVE AS VICE CHAIR FOR THE UPCOMING FISCAL YEAR.  BOARD MEMBERS THANKED OUTGOING CHAIR BOB JONES FOR HIS SERVICE AS CHAIR FOR THE PAST NINE YEARS.  FOLLOWING A DISCUSSION OF PRELIMINARY YEAR END FINANCIAL RESULTS, THE BOARD ACCEPTED BIDS ON CLEANING SERVICES AND CLOTHING SERVICES FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR  BOARD MEMBERS ALSO APPROVED A BID FOR A NEW RIGHT OF WAY MAINTENANCE TRUCK TO BE DELIVERED IN 2022.

 

SYSTEM MANAGER VIC PUSSER REPORTED THAT A REDUCTION IN THE T V A FUEL ADJUSTMENT CHARGE WILL REDUCE MONTHLY POWER BILLS FOR THE AVERAGE CUSTOMER BY APPROXIMATELY ONE DOLLAR.  HE DISCUSSED THE STATUS OF NUMEROUS PROJECTS INCLUDING THE NEW NORTH SUBSTATION, GAS AND WATER AMI METER INSTALLATION, AND UTILITY EXTENSIONS FOR NEW SUBDIVISIONS BEING CONSTRUCTED IN THE SYSTEM'S. SERVICE AREA.  L. U. S. WORK ON THE NEW COLLEGE IS COMPLETE.  PUSSER REPORTED THAT THERE IS A LARGE AMOUNT OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY IN PROGRESS AND HIS FEELING THAT ONE OR MORE SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS WILL LIKELY BE LOCATED IN LAWRENCE COUNTY.
