A MIDDLE TENNESSEE REGISTERED NURSE HAS BEEN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH PATIENT ABUSE AND RECKLESS HOMICIDE.  ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, SPECIAL AGENTS WITH THE TBI ALONG WITH THE DAVIDSON COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE BEGAN INVESTIGATING THE DEATH OF 76 YEAR OLD CHARLENE MURPHEY WHO WAS A PATIENT AT VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER.  DURING THE COURSE OF THE INVESTIGATION AGENTS DISCOVERED THAT 35 YEAR OLD RADONDA VAUGHT WAS PART OF THE TEAM IN CHARGE OF MURPHEY’S CARE AND THAT VAUGHT WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ABUSE OF MURPHEY WHICH LED TO HER DEATH.  ON FEBRUARY 1ST THE DAVIDSON COUNTY GRAND JURY RETURNED INDICTMENTS CHARGING VAUGHT WITH ONE COUNT OF IMPAIRED ADULT ABUSE AND ONE COUNT OF RECKLESS HOMICIDE.  ON MONDAY VAUGHT WAS ARRESTED AND BOOKED INTO THE DAVIDSON COUNTY JAIL ON FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLAR BOND.  VAUGHT IS NO LONGER AN EMPLOYEE WITH VANDERBILT.
