THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE HAS ANNOUNCED AN OPPORTUNITY THAT WILL ALLOW SOME STUDENTS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE BY CUTTING THE COST TO ATTEND. THE PROGRAM IS CALLED UT PROMISE AND IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO MEET ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND WILL COVER THE COSTS LEFT OVER AFTER OTHER FINANCIAL AID TO STUDENTS WHOSE FAMILIES ANNUAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME IS UNDER 50 THOUSAND DOLLARS. MEDIA SOURCES REPORT THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO GO TO THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT NO COST. IN ADDITION TO UT PROMISE THE UNIVERSITY HOPES TO SET UP A MENTOR PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS AS SOME ARE FIRST GENERATION COLLEGE STUDENTS. THE UT PROMISE STARTS IN FALL 2020 AND IS FOR NEW AND CURRENT STUDENTS.
