THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S SAFETY PROJECT TO INSTALL MUCH NEEDED TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE ON AND OFF RAMPS OF SATURN PARKWAY AT PORT ROYAL ROAD IS SCHEDULED TO GO TO BID ON MARCH 29. ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, ONCE BIDS ARE RECEIVED AND THE PROJECT IS AWARDED, IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT CONSTRUCTION WILL BEGIN IN SPRING AND WILL BE COMPLETED IN OCTOBER. IN ADDITION TO TRAFFIC LIGHTS, THE .435 MILE PROJECT WILL INCLUDE SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS TO PORT ROYAL ROAD FROM THE NORTH OF JIM WARREN ROAD TO OLD PORT ROYAL NORTH INCLUDING GRADING, DRAINAGE AND PAVING.
