THE MT. PLEASANT MUNICIPAL UTILITIES TOOK TO SOCIAL MEDIA ON THURSDAY TO UPDATE CUSTOMERS ON WORK IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA FOR THE CITY STREET REPLACEMENT PROJECT. CREWS BEGAN WORK AT THE INTERSECTION OF MAIN AND MONROE STREET ON WEDNESDAY AND AS OF THURSDAY, NORTH BOUND TRAFFIC WAS CLOSED ON SOUTH MAIN STREET FROM WASHINGTON STREET TO MONROE STREET FOR THE NEW WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT ON THE EAST SIDE OF MAIN STREET PARKING.  ALL TRAFFIC WILL BE ONE WAY INSIDE THE SQUARE.  THE NEXT STAGE OF WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE 100 BLOCK OF NORTH MAIN BETWEEN MONROE STREET AND MADISON STREET.
