TENNESSEE HOUSE SPEAKER GLEN CASADA HAS ANNOUNCED HIS INTENT TO STEP DOWN AFTER WEEKS OF CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING HIMSELF AND FORMER CHIEF OF STAFF CADE COTHREN.  EARLIER THIS MONTH CASADA ADMITTED TO PARTICIPATING IN LEWD CONVERSATIONS WITH COTHREN, SOMETHING HE DESCRIBED AS LOCKER ROOM TALK BETWEEN ADULT MEN.  MEDIA SOURCES REPORT, CASADA WILL MEET WITH CAUCUS LEADERSHIP ON JUNE 3RD TO DETERMINE THE BEST DATE FOR HIM TO RESIGN SO THEY CAN FACILITATE A SMOOTH TRANSITION. CASADA HAS SERVED AS A MEMBER OF THE TENNESSEE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES SINCE 2000 WHERE HE REPRESENTS DISTRICT 63 AND IS IN HIS FIRST SESSION AS SPEAKER.
