FLORENCE OFFICIALS INDICATE CONSTRUCTION IS PROGRESSING ON A NEW OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF FLORENCE BOULEVARD AND COX CREEK PARKWAY. THE TIMES DAILY REPORTS THE NEW FACILITY IS SET TO OPEN IN DECEMBER OR IN EARLY JANUARY 2020 HOWEVER SOME DOUBT REMAINS IF THE COMPANY'S LONG TIME SHEFFIELD LOCATION WILL REMAIN OPEN.  ORIGINAL REPORTS INDICATED THE COLBERT COUNTY RESTAURANT WOULD CLOSE WHEN THE NEW FLORENCE LOCATION OPENED HOWEVER CORPORATE REPRESENTATIVES RECENTLY TOLD SHEFFIELD CITY LEADERS THEY HAVE NO PLANS TO SHUTDOWN THE NEAR 20 YEAR OLD RESTAURANT.  ANOTHER NEW CHAIN RESTAURANT IS SET TO OPEN IN DOWNTOWN FLORENCE AS EARLY AS NEXT WEEK.  TACO MAMA COULD BEGIN SERVING AT IT'S NEW CHERRY STREET LOCATION IN THE COMING DAYS. THE NEW RESTAURANT IS THE 18TH FOR THE COMPANY WHICH OPERATES OUTLETS ACROSS ALABAMA, NORTH CAROLINA, AND TENNESSEE.
