A SALES TAX REFERENDUM HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE MAURY COUNTY COMMISSION.  THE DAILY HERALD REPORTS COUNTY LEADERS APPROVED THE SALES TAX INCREASE FROM 2.25% TO 2.75%.  THE RESOLUTION, WHICH SERVES AS A REFERENDUM TO A SALES TAX INCREASE IN SPRING HILL, WILL BE INCLUDED ON THE MARCH 2020 MAURY COUNTY PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY BALLOT.  VOTERS WILL THEN APPROVE OR REJECT THE RESOLUTION.  LEADERS INDICATE THE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO PAY FOR COUNTY DEBT THAT IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND WILL INCREASE THE COUNTY'S BORROWING CAPACITY.
