A SUSPICIOUS EVENT RESULTING IN A TRAFFIC STOP OVER THE WEEKEND LED TO AN ARREST OF A LAWRENCE COUNTY MAN.  ACCORDING TO REPORTS, DEPUTIES WITH THE LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT WERE DISPATCHED TO WESTWOOD DRIVE IN REFERENCE TO A BURGLARY.  UPON ARRIVAL DEPUTIES SPOKE WITH A COMPLAINANT WHO ADVISED HER BASEMENT DOOR WAS OPEN AND SHE BELIEVED SOMEONE HAD BROKEN IN.  THE RESIDENCE WAS CLEARED AND NO SIGNS OF FORCED ENTRY WERE SEEN.  MOMENTS AFTER DEPUTIES LEFT THE SCENE, DEPUTIES WERE ONCE AGAIN ENROUTE AS THE CALLER ADVISED A WHITE TRUCK WAS NOW PARKED IN FRONT OF THE RESIDENCE.  AS DEPUTIES APPROACHED THE VEHICLE PULLED AWAY AND A TRAFFIC STOP WAS INITIATED.  THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE, IDENTIFIED AS WESLEY DAVID THOMPSON, 25, OF LAWRENCEBURG, APPEARED TO BE NOTICEABLY SHAKING AND AFTER A K9 UNIT HIT A POSITIVE ON THE VEHICLE, A SEARCH WAS DONE WHICH YIELDED DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, SUSPECTED HEROIN AND COCAINE AS WELL AS PRESCRIPTION PILLS.  ALSO FOUND WAS PAPERS WITH ALLEGED DRUG TRANSACTIONS AND PRICES ON THEM.  THOMPSON WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND CHARGED ON VARIOUS DRUG CHARGES INCLUDING POSSESSION OF HEROIN FOR RESALE.  HE WAS BOOKED INTO THE LAWRENCE COUNTY JAIL.
