JAMES ERNEST COX, 87, DIED SUNDAY. HE WAS A VETERAN, A BOILERMAKER AND RETIRED FROM HOME IMPROVEMENT. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE CHICKAMAUGA CHEROKEE INDIAN TRIBE OF ALABAMA.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS CHILDREN: TERRY COX, TERESA HALL, TINA BALDWIN AND KIMBERLY ELLIS; ONE SISTER: GLADYS CORENE CAGLE; HALF SISTERS: LOUISE YARBROUGH AND ERNESTINE MILLER; HALF BROTHERS: ROBERT COX, LEWIS COX, DAVID COX AND RONALD "PEANUT" COX; SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN AND SEVEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.

THE FUNERAL SERVICE FOR JAMES ERNEST COX WILL BE THURSDAY AT 1 AT ELKINS EAST CHAPEL WITH BURIAL AT RICE CEMETERY. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE VISITORS WEDNESDAY FROM 6 TO 8.
