Dangerous heat will prevail in all of Giles County today (Monday) and Tuesday with possible 105 degrees or higher Heat Index values.  

This heat can be dangerous and it is important to take precautions. During the hottest part of the day, it is recommended that you limit outdoor activities, drink plenty of water  and wear light clothing.

Young children, elderly and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles as car interiors can reach lethal temps in a matter of minutes.

On Tuesday a cold front will bring strong storms during the afternoon and evening that will feed off of the heat and humidity.

The main threat from these storms is damaging gusty wind, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning.
