Chairman of the Giles County Economic Development Commission’s Workforce Development Committee made an announcement during a recent meeting that officials are seeking another site for the Career Expo.
The expo is intended to expose secondary school students to industrial and manufacturing jobs.
The expo has been held at Martin Methodist College, whose president, Dr. Mark LaBranche, has confirmed the desire to move to a different location, possibly at the Giles County Agri- Park on Highway 31 South.
Besides another location, Thompson said the committee will also look at another date for the expo.
EDC members also adopted a revised personnel policy, which cleared some inconsistencies.
As policy changes were added over the years, the changes have not always worked together with the existing policy.
Once the revised policy was adopted, David Hamilton, EDC executive director, said he would not be a voting member, which he said was a good thing.
