State Representative Clay Doggett, of Pulaski, has been named to fill one of six Deputy Whip positions within the Tennessee House Republican Caucus for the second session of the 111th Tennessee General Assembly.
House Majority Whip Johnny Garrett, said these six members are distinguished leaders among the freshman House Republican legislators. “Representative Doggett has established himself a respected leader among his colleagues in the House. I appreciate his willingness to serve and his commitment to move Tennessee forward.” said Garrett.
Doggett will assist in counting votes as well as communicating with members about the Republican supermajority’s position on issues or legislative initiatives of importance.
“I thank Majority Whip Garrett for entrusting me with this new responsibility and opportunity,” Doggett said. “I look forward to working with leadership and my colleagues in the General Assembly to make Tennessee the best state in the nation to live, work, raise a family and retire.”
Doggett serves the 70th House District in the Tennessee House of Representatives which includes Giles and part of Lawrence counties.
