Early voting ends today for the March 3 Presidential Preference Primary and Republican Primary in Giles County.
The Giles County Election Commission office reported as of this morning (Tuesday) a total of 789 voters have cast their ballots early.
The Giles County Republican Party chose to have a primary, while the county Democratic Party did not. If asked, State law requires counties to hold primary elections.
Some candidates have suspended their campaigns since the withdrawal deadline passed for the March 3 ballot.
Voters also can select committed and uncommitted congressional delegates at large in the Seventh Congressional District and committed and uncommitted delegates at large.
The Giles County Election Commission office is open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and has been opened until noon on Saturday for early voting.
