The Tennessee wildlife resources agency has announced that the search for three boaters in Hardin County has turned to a recovery operation.
According to a press release, several factors have led to this decision: a picture of the Stratos bass boat containing 43 year old Kenneth Driver and the two 15 year old boys above the dam on Saturday between 8 and 8:30 am; extensive damage to the boat recovered Monday morning near the savannah bridge; plus the water flow, water temperature and air temperature.
Twenty boats and 70 volunteers searched 50 miles of the Tennessee River on Wednesday.
Units conducted surface scans and grid searches using side-scan sonar in attempts to locate the missing boaters.
Over the last three days emergency crews from agencies from several counties have helped in the search including Hardin County, Henderson County, Sumner County, TVA and Tennessee Highway Patrol..
