Precincts across the county opened at 8 a.m. today and remain open until 7 p.m. for the Super Tuesday presidential preference primary and Republican Primary in Giles County.
Administrator of Elections Zena Dickey said all precincts should be fully staffed for the election.
Tennesseans voting should remember to bring a valid photo identification to the polls. A driver license or photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, by Tennessee state government or by the federal government are acceptable, even if they are expired. College student IDs are not acceptable.
The Giles County Republican Party chose to have a primary, while the county Democratic Party did not.
Qualifying has started for the August 6th state, federal primary and county general election.
Qualifying continues until noon, April 2nd.
