During the Pulaski-Giles County Economic Development Commission meeting in June Director David Hamilton reported at least three industrial development projects was submitted, which could potentially create more than 400 jobs if successful.
Hamilton said the EDC is also working with an existing industry on expansion, which may add up to 25 jobs in the course of three to four years.
Despite an uncertain economic climate, Hamilton reported positive signs of growth in Giles County.
Contract with retail firm Retail Strategies was granted a two-month extension, with four different retailers interested in Pulaski.
The EDC board voted to reappoint one-year terms to PES CEO Richard Kelley as EDC Chairman, Giles County Commissioner Duane Jones as EDC Vice Chairman and Brindley Construction President Ronnie Brindley as EDC Secretary-Treasurer.
Pay for Industrial Park Maintenance using the EDC operating account was also approved by the board and to pay for the Industrial Park South sign using the EDC operating account.
