Leftovers of Tropical Storm Sally could bring more rain to areas in Giles County that experienced flash flooding on Sunday.
According to Road Superintendent Barry Hyatt, roads in the county that were closed due to flooding were Minnow Branch and Old Campbellsville Road. A Culbert was washed out near Anderson Creek on the Giles-Lawrence county line.
Tropical Storm Sally is slowly tracking through the Gulf of Mexico and set to make landfall late today (Monday) into Tuesday morning. The warm gulf water will likely allow the system to strengthen into a weak hurricane before it makes landfall.
This tropical system will impact Giles County and parts of Middle Tennessee late week with rain and wind being very likely on Thursday and Friday.
The weaker the storm is when it makes landfall, the lesser its impact will be when the remnants arrive.
Unfortunately, some areas in the county could see 2 to 3 inches of rainfall which leads to a chance of additional flooding that saw rising water with Sunday's heavy rainfall.
