THE COLUMBIA POLICE DEPARTMENT IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING INCIDENT WHICH OCCURRED SATURDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 3:30 IN THE PARKING LOT OF 400 HALLMARK DRIVE, HALLMARK APARTMENTS. ACCORDING TO A PRESS RELEASE, INFORMATION RECEIVED THROUGHOUT THE INVESTIGATION INDICATES THAT TWENTY-ONE YEAR OLD  KOBIA EUGENE LLOYD WAS INVOLVED IN AN ALTERCATION WITH A TWENTY-TWO YEAR OLD FEMALE, THE MOTHER OF HIS CHILDREN. DURING THE ALTERCATION, LLOYD FIRED ONE ROUND FROM A HANDGUN INTO A VEHICLE OCCUPIED BY THE FEMALE AND THEIR THREE CHILDREN (AGES TWO, ONE, AND EIGHT MONTHS OLD). THE EIGHT MONTH OLD CHILD WAS STRUCK IN THE HEAD. THE CHILD WAS TRANSPORTED TO MAURY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER, AND THEN TRANSFERRED TO VANDERBILT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL VIA LIFEFLIGHT. THE CHILD IS CURRENTLY LISTED IN CRITICAL BUT STABLE CONDITION. DETECTIVES HAVE SECURED WARRANTS AGAINST LLOYD FOR FOUR COUNTS OF ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER, FELONY RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, AND AGGRAVATED CHILD ENDANGERMENT. DETECTIVES ARE AGGRESSIVELY FOLLOWING UP ON ANY LEADS WHICH MAY LEAD TO LLOYD BEING LOCATED AND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.
