A LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON TRAFFIC CRASH CLOSED HIGHWAY 64 EAST IN LAWRENCE COUNTY FOR A NUMBER OF HOURS AND SENT AT LEAST TWO PEOPLE TO HOSPITALS WITH CRITICAL INJURIES.  MEMBERS OF THE NEW PROSPECT, LAWRENCEBURG, LEOMA, AND CROSSROADS FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AT THE INTERSECTION WITH PULASKI HIGHWAY JUST AFTER 5 PM ON A REPORT OF A MULTIPLE VEHICLE COLLISION WITH VICTIMS POSSIBLY ENTRAPPED IN THE WRECKAGE. ONE PERSON WAS TRANSPORTED TO SOUTHERN TENNESSEE REGIONAL IN CRITICAL CONDITION WHILE ANOTHER WAS AIRLIFTED TO HUNTSVILLE HOSPITAL. TRAFFIC WAS SHUT DOWN FOR SOME TIME DUE TO THE CRASH WHILE TENNESSEE STATE TROOPERS CONDUCTED AN INVESTIGATION.  THIS IS A DEVELOPING STORY… WE’LL HAVE MORE AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.
