AS OF THURSDAY AFTERNOON, THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REPORTS 3,585 PEOPLE ARE CURRENTLY HOSPITALIZED IN TENNESSEE WITH COVID, WITH 1,071 OF THOSE IN AN ICU BED. MAURY REGIONAL HEALTH HOSPITALS ARE TREATING 111 PATIENTS TODAY WITH 29 OF THOSE IN AN ICU BED. LATEST NUMBERS FROM THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SHOW THERE ARE 5,120 ACTIVE CASES REPORTED IN THE SEVEN-COUNTY REGION SERVED BY MAURY REGIONAL HEALTH, INCLUDING GILES COUNTY. ICU BEDS ARE NEARLY UNAVAILABLE ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION, AND APPROXIMATELY 94% OF THOSE ADMITTED TO THE ICU WITH COVID ARE UNVACCINATED.
