Donations to help families who were hardest hit by the hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico are being accepted.
Lynnville resident Leigh Brymer is leading the collection effort. She said there is a tractor trailer parked near Murrey Chevrolet that is being loaded. She asks the public to donate toys and batteries for children this Christmas. These will be give to victims in Texas and Florida.
The hardest hit country of Puerto Rico is still in need of items such as clothing, diapers, lumber and cash.
If you would like to give, bring your donated items to Murrey Chevrolet before Dec. 19.

The Giles County Commission is scheduled to meet Monday, Nov. 20 at the Giles County Courthouse, beginning at 9 a.m.
Addressing the commissioners will be Clerk and Master Merry Merle Sigmon, Director of Giles County Schools Phillip Wright and Economic Director Bethany Shockney.
Also, 5th District Commissioner Lois Aymett will give a presentation.
The commissioners will elect someone as chairman pro tem, who will serve until the September 2018 meeting and elect a circuit court clerk to fill the unexpired term of Crystal Gibson until the next general election.
The board of commissioners is expected to approve new notaries public at large and appoint Rex Miles as the Green Belt representative on the Economic Development Commission for a four-year term.
Commissioners will hear reports from various departments and vote on several resolutions.
