Mrs. Anna Marie Scott Harwell transcended to the next life Saturday morning, January 2, 2021. She was born on June 18, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA and was 102 years old.

Anna was a devout Catholic and met the love of her life Rivers Griffin Harwell (originally from Pulaski) while he was serving in the Navy. Together they traveled the country together while Rivers served his country. They were blessed with two beautiful children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was a loving wife and doting mother. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely and enjoyed spending time with each of them.

Anna was in a number of walking clubs over the years and enjoyed bowling in leagues throughout her life. She spent countless hours volunteering in local hospitals. She enjoyed walking on the beach and was never one to shy away from nickel machines in Biloxi. She had a quick wit and loved socializing with friends.

She will be remembered for her easy smile and will be missed by all who knew her.

The visitation and rosary will be 10:30am Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at 11:30am Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Mount Pisgah Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rivers Griffin Harwell along with her parents Andrew and Theresa Sours Scott. Daughter Barbara Ann Crane. Son, Robert William Harwell.

She is survived by;


Tammy Jay (Tazwell Clay) Wingo, III of Peachtree City, Georgia.

Robert Wayne Harwell of Oklahoma.

Andrew Thomas Crane of Nashville, TN.

Joseph Michael (Margaret Donaldson) Crane of Nashville, TN.

Great-grandchildren, Brookly Ann Wingo, Blakeley Jane Wingo, Barbara Margaret Crane, and Joseph Boyden Crane.

Daughter in-law Jamie Ann Harwell of Peachtree City,GA .
