Jesus Quesada made one of the most impressive runs ever by a Martin Methodist Men’s Tennis performer over the weekend when he finished runner-up at the ITA Southeast Regionals.

Quesada, who entered the tournament as the #5 seed, won his first five matches before he entered Sunday’s title match.

Squaring off against fellow #5 seed Srdan Pejic, a sophomore from Union, Quesada fell 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 in the tightly-contested final.

“To get my senior year started off with a performance like this at Regionals is huge,” Quesada said. “Three years of training and long trips against quality competition is finally starting to pay off. I am very happy and proud of this appearance in the Regional Final. Both on a personal level and for Martin Methodist College.”

Quesada’s individual performance is among the best in Men’s Tennis program history.
