Martin Methodist Executive Director of Athletics Jeff Bain has announced the resignation of Micah Hartsfield as head coach of Competitive Cheer, effective November 1st.

Hartsfield will depart to accept a position at NCAA Division I institution, Tennessee Tech, after nine and a half seasons at Martin Methodist. The move is a return home, for Micah, who cheered at Tennessee Tech prior to entering the coaching realm.

During his tenure at Martin Methodist, Hartsfield produced an NAIA Invitational National Championship in 2016 – the first national championship awarded in the sport of Competitive Cheer in the NAIA.

The RedHawks also claimed the 2018 Southern States Athletic Conference title earlier this spring.

Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for the position of Head Cheer Coach who will be expected to lead the team in reflecting excellence on and off the field.
