For the 11th consecutive season, the Martin Methodist Women's Soccer team will host an NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round matchup at Grissom Pitch.

During Monday morning’s official NAIA Bracket Reveal, it was announced that Martin Methodist will host LSU-Shreveport in the Opening Round contest Saturday at Grissom Pitch.

The RedHawks (18-1-1) enter the tournament as the #3 seed after they defeated William Carey University in the final of the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament last week in Montgomery. The victory ensured the RedHawks of the automatic berth into the 31-team field.

Saturday’s contest marks just the second-ever meeting between the two clubs, with the RedHawks defeating the Pilots, 2-0, at Grissom Pitch on Sept. 1, 2007.

The RedHawks are led by SSAC Offensive Player of the Year Millene Cabral, who buried the game-winning penalty kick in last Friday’s title match. On the season, Cabral scored 37 goals and added 10 assists.
