The Martin Methodist Baseball team had a huge weekend, taking the first two games from # 18 University of Mobile on the road. The RedHawks won the opener, 5-3, in 10 innings and won the nightcap, 4-3.

RedHawk outfielder Riley Phillips was the hero in the first ballgame, smacking a game-tying, 2-run homer in the seventh and then cranking a game-winning, 2-run blast in the 10th.

Third baseman Tyler Robb had two homers himself in the second contest as the RedHawks picked up the series victory in just two ballgames.

Saturday’s contest saw the RedHawks fall by an 8-2 margin as they were unable to complete the sweep.

RedHawk Baseball returns to action on Wednesday when they host # 2 nationally-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan. First pitch is set for 3pm at Bobby Walker Field in Pulaski.
