Martin Methodist Women’s Basketball senior Brooklyn Blanchard was named Honorable Mention All-American, as announced by the NAIA national office earlier this week.
Blanchard, a guard from Smyrna, Tennessee, led the RedHawks to a 23-11 record and the program’s fifth berth to the NAIA national tournament, which was eventually canceled due to coronavirus concerns.
The All-American nod is the second of Blanchard’s career, with the senior also being named Honorable Mention during her sophomore campaign.
Blanchard was one of the NAIA’s top playmakers, ranking fifth nationally in total assists with 173 helpers on the year. Blanchard also averaged 13.1 points per game and led the RedHawks with 75 total steals.
Blanchard was named First Team All-Conference by the SSAC earlier this month, the third-straight season she had achieved such an honor.
Blanchard departs as one of the RedHawks premier scorers and playmakers, scoring 1,599 points and notching 483 assists.
