Martin Methodist College Executive Director of Athletics Jeff Bain was presented the Boy Scouts of America Middle Tennessee Council 2019 Good Scout of the Year Award during the annual Boy Scout Luncheon held in the Curry Christian Life Center Thursday.
Bain, who is finishing his 26th season as athletic director at Martin Methodist, received the award, in part, due to his tremendous values of leadership and character-building.
Bob Massey of Robert D. Massey and Associates presented the award to Bain. Massey has served as an Executive Board Member and District Executive Board Member of the Boy Scouts of America Middle Tennessee Council and National Eagle Scout Association since 1985.
Martin Methodist Board of Trustees member and Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski CEO Jim Edmondson served as the event’s Master of Ceremonies.
The #5 Lipscomb Bisons will square-off with the #2 Texas Longhorns in the championship game of the NIT Tournament tonight from Madison Square Garden.
The Bisons recorded a 71-64 win over 6th seed Wichita State Tuesday night, and the Longhorns thumped #1 seed TCU 58-44 in their semifinal action.
The Lipscomb Bison have played the role of spoiler in the NIT Tournament. They were the underdog in three of their four games in the NIT, and they have defeated Davidson, and NC State.

Tennessee Titans Social Media Manager Nate Bain Will Speak at tomorrow’s (Wednesday’s) Martin Methodist RedHawk Luncheon at Hickory House.
Bain will Speak on the upcoming NFL Draft, which is set to be held in Nashville later this month.
Bain, a Pulaski native, is in handling all social media efforts for the team, which has the 19th selection in the Draft.
The event begins at Noon, with Martin Methodist offering a special daily lunch rate of $5 for those in attendance.

The Crimson Tide hired Oats Wednesday after he led the Bulls to their best season and a third NCAA berth in four years.
Athletic director Greg Byrne turned to Oats three days after parting ways with Avery Johnson in what he described as a mutual decision.
Byrne said Oats would "hit the ground running" starting Wednesday night.
"I have been watching coach Oats for the last few years as he has led the University at Buffalo to unprecedented heights," Byrne said. "His commitment to developing the student-athlete both on and off the court was what really stuck out.
"As we spoke to some of the best college and pro basketball minds in the country, his name came up time and time again."

The Martin Methodist Softball team announced that Today’s doubleheader versus Cumberland University has been moved to an away contest. Originally scheduled as a home event, the doubleheader will now take place in Lebanon, Tennessee, beginning at 2 p.m.
The RedHawks will now host Cumberland in a doubleheader Tuesday, April 2, beginning at 2 p.m.
