FIRE DAMAGED TWO LAWRENCE COUNTY HOMES TUESDAY NIGHT.  AROUND 8, FIRE CREWS WERE CALLED TO C-C ROAD ON A REPORT OF A HOUSE FIRE.  FIRST ARRIVING FIREFIGHTERS NOTED SMOKE WAS VISIBLE FROM THE RESIDENCE AND WERE ABLE TO QUICKLY BRING THE FIRE UNDER CONTROL.  MINUTES LATER ANOTHER FIRE WAS REPORTED AT A HOME ON EDWARDS DRIVE.  CREWS CONTAINED THE BLAZE TO MOSTLY THE RESIDENCE'S ATTIC AREA HOWEVER THE PROPERTY SUFFERED SMOKE AND WATER DAMAGE AS A RESULT.  NO INJURIES FROM EITHER INCIDENT WERE REPORTED.  HEAVY LIGHTNING FROM A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WAS PRESENT AT THE TIME THE FIRES BROKE OUT HOWEVER THE EXACT CAUSE REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
