TWO DOGS THAT ATTACKED A SIX YEAR OLD BOY OVER THE WEEKEND IN MAURY COUNTY HAVE BEEN EUTHANIZED. ACCORDING TO MEDIA SOURCES, THE INCIDENT OCCURRED SUNDAY WHILE THE BOY WAS STAYING WITH A FAMILY MEMBER WHO OWNED THE DOGS. MAURY COUNTY ANIMAL CONTROL AND MAURY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO THE SCENE AND THE DOGS WERE REMOVED. THE BOY WAS TRANSPORTED TO VANDERBILT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT. IT IS UNCLEAR WHY THE DOGS ATTACKED THE BOY AND THE OWNER SURRENDERED CUSTODY TO MAURY COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICE WHERE THEY WERE HUMANELY EUTHANIZED AND PREPARED FOR RABIES TESTING.
