A WANTED PERSON OUT OF ALABAMA WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY SATURDAY NIGHT IN IRON CITY.  ACCORDING TO MEDIA SOURCES, DEPUTIES WITH THE WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT PULLED OVER A VEHICLE DRIVEN BY 52 YEAR OLD ROGER LEE HUNT ON MIDDLE BUTLER CREEK ROAD.  HUNT ALLEGEDLY FLED FROM THE DEPUTY WHEN HE ADVISED HIM HE WAS BEING PLACED UNDER ARREST FOR A WARRANT OUT OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY. HUNT ALONG WITH HIS PASSENGER, NATHAN PAUL ATWELL, BOTH OF IRON CITY, DROVE TO HUNT'S HOME WHERE HE WAS APPREHENDED.  TWO LOADED WEAPONS WERE IN PLAIN VIEW INSIDE HUNT'S VEHICLE AND AFTER A POSITIVE ALERT BY K9, A SEARCH YIELDED 13.2 GRAMS OF METHAMPHETAMINE AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA AMONG OTHER THINGS. ATWELL, WHO IS ALLEGEDLY A CONVICTED FELON, WAS ALSO TAKEN INTO CUSTODY DUE TO THE FACT THAT NEITHER HE NOR HUNT WOULD CLAIM THE DRUGS OR DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. A METH PIPE WAS ALSO RECOVERED FROM ATWELL’S VEHICLE WHICH WAS PARKED AT HUNT'S RESIDENCE. HUNT FACES VARIOUS DRUG CHARGES, RESISTING ARREST, POSSESSION OF A PROHIBITED WEAPON, AND FELONY EVADING ARREST. HE WAS BOOKED INTO THE WAYNE COUNTY JAIL ON 137,000 BOND. ATWELL WAS ARRESTED ON VARIOUS DRUG CHARGES AND UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIRE ARM. HE WAS BOOKED INTO THE WAYNE COUNTY JAIL ON 155,000 BOND.
