THE LAWRENCEBURG CITY COUNCIL MEET IN REGULAR SESSION THIS MORNING (THURSDAY MORNING). THE MEETING BEGAN WITH VICE MAYOR ROBIN WILLIAMS ANNOUNCING THAT CITY OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED ON OCTOBER 14TH IN OBSERVANCE OF COLUMBUS DAY.  GARBAGE PICK UP FOR THAT MONDAY WILL BE THURSDAY.  CITY ADMINISTRATOR CHRIS SHAFFER THEN ANNOUNCED LUNCH WITH THE MAYOR WHICH CITIZENS OF LAWRENCEBURG ARE INVITED TO ON THE FOURTH THURSDAYS OF EACH MONTH.  THE DUTCH TREAT WILL BE HELD AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS BETWEEN 11:30 AND 12:30. THE FIRST IS SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 24TH AT STRIKERS STEAK HOUSE.  A BRIEF REPORT FROM PARKS AND REC WAS PRESENTED REGARDING THE PERFORMANCE SERIES WHICH IS KICKING OFF NEXT WEEK WITH A TRIBUTE TO JOHN MESSER BEFORE LEADERS ENTERTAINED A SHORT AGENDA WHICH ALL ITEMS WERE VOTED ON AND APPROVED.  AMONG THOSE ITEMS INCLUDE A RESOLUTION TO PURCHASE A 7 CUBIC YARD REGENERATIVE AIR STREET SWEEPER FOR THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF 231,127 DOLLARS AND A RESOLUTION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PUBLIC ENTITY PARTNER PROPERTY CONSERVATION MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM WHICH THE CITY COULD RECEIVE UP TO 4 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR LOSS CONTROL ITEMS SUCH AS SECURITY LIGHTING, CAMERAS AND FENCING.  THE GRANT IS A 50/50 GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF 8 THOUSAND DOLLARS. THE COUNCIL WILL MEET AGAIN ON OCTOBER 24TH.
