OFFICERS WITH THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT MADE SEVERAL ARRESTS MADE OVER THE WEEKEND. ACCORDING TO REPORTS, ON FRIDAY AN OFFICER WITH THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT ARRESTED MATTHEW WAYNE HUNKAPILLER DURING A TRAFFIC STOP AFTER HE PROVIDED FALSE INFORMATION TO THE OFFICER SEVERAL TIMES.  HE WAS ALSO ISSUED CITATIONS FOR FAILURE TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN, EXPIRED TAG AND EXPIRED DRIVERS LICENSE. ON SUNDAY, OFFICERS WERE DISPATCHED TO A REPORT OF AN INTOXICATED FEMALE WALKING ON NORTH LOCUST AVE.  OFFICERS LOCATED THE FEMALE AS SHE STEPPED INTO THE ROADWAY AND ALMOST GOT HIT BY A CAR.  THE FEMALE, IDENTIFIED AS CRYSTAL LASHELLE SIMPSON, REFUSED TO GET OF THE ROAD AND WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY.  ALSO ON SUNDAY, OFFICERS RESPONDED TO THE DOLLAR GENERAL ON NORTH MILITARY TO A REPORT OF SHOPLIFTING. UPON ARRIVAL, OFFICERS FOUND THE SUSPECTS WHO WERE ACCUSED OF TAKING ITEMS FROM BINS OUTSIDE THE STORE AND PLACING THEM IN THEIR VEHICLE. ITEMS WERE LOCATED INSIDE THE TRUCK AND WITNESSES ADVISED THEY SAW BOTH SUBJECTS STEALING.  SHAWNA LYNN SMITH AND CHRISTOPHER ERIC TRUXALL WERE BOTH TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND THE PROPERTY VALUED AT 19.76 WAS RECOVERED.
