THE LAWRENCEBURG CITY COUNCIL MET IN REGULAR SESSION TODAY (THURSDAY).  THE MEETING BEGAN WITH CITY ADMINISTRATOR CHRIS SCHAFFER ADVISING THAT CITY OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED ON NOVEMBER 28TH AND 29TH FOR THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY AND THAT THE NEXT COUNCIL MEETING WILL BE POSTPONED. THE NEXT LUNCH WITH THE MAYOR WILL BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 21ST AT SQUARE 40.  LEADERS THEN TURNED THEIR ATTENTION TO A LENGTHY AGENDA IN WHICH ALL ITEMS WERE VOTED ON AND APPROVED.  AMONG THOSE ITEMS INCLUDED AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF FACILITIES AND PARTICIPATION IN PROGRAMS THROUGH THE LAWRENCEBURG PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2019-2020 BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF 2000 DOLLARS FOR FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE PUBLIC ENTITY PARTNER SAFETY GRANT.  RESOLUTIONS TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A NEW PPE AND HOSE DRYER FOR THE CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT, TO ACCEPT THE LAWRENCE COUNTY HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN AND TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS WERE ALSO BE DISCUSSED. FOUR VETERANS WERE THEN RECOGNIZED AS A RESOLUTION TO NAME BRIDGES THROUGHOUT THE CITY IN THEIR HONOR WAS PASSED JUST PRIOR TO ADJOURNMENT.  THOSE HONORED INCLUDE J.M SHAW, JR,. ANN AND SOPHIA BEURELEIN AND GENE PRINCE.  LAWRENCEBURG PUBLIC WORKS WANTED TO REMIND FOLKS THAT THEIR CREWS WILL BE OUT TRIMMING TREES THAT MAY BE AN OBSTACLE FOR BUSES AND EMERGENCY PERSONNEL AS WELL AS BLOCKING INTERSECTIONS OR RIGHT OF WAYS.  THE NEXT MEETING OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND ALDERMAN IS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 12TH AT 9.
