THE LYNNVILLE BOARD OF MAYOR AND ALDERMAN MEET IN REGULAR SESSION RECENTLY.  AMONG THE ITEMS DISCUSSED INCLUDED THE NAMING OF THE NEW POLICE CHIEF.  MIKE DIAZ, A RETIRED DEPUTY WITH THE MAURY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT WILL BE REPLACING STEVE JONES, WHO RESIGNED EARLIER THIS YEAR.  ALSO DURING THE MONTHY MEETING, FORMER ALDERMAN PATTY PATTERSON AND SANDY WHITE WERE SWORN INTO OFFICE TO REPLACE ALDERMAN RICHARD LAMB, WHO RETIRED AND ANOTHER VACANCY ON THE BOARD. UPDATES WERE GIVEN ON WORK THAT WAS BEING DONE AND HAD BEEN COMPLETED ON VARIOUS CITY  BUILDINGS THAT HAD ROOF DAMAGE FROM HEAVY RAIN.  THE BOARD APPROVED AN ORDINANCE TO BORROW APPROXIMATELY $90,000 FROM THE UTILITY DISTRICT’S WATER FUND TO PAY FOR ROOF REPAIRS.
